Sonic 2 the video game was made in the year of Sonic 2 (1992), and was nominated and won GOTY (Game Of The Year) in the same year, and all years following.
When Sonic 2 was release, it was ahead of it's time. It was the first ever game where the player could actually play the game! This took the world by storm, and "Sonic Twosday" became an international holiday, being the 21st of November.
On this day, people play Sonic 2 with their loved ones, either taking turns playing the single player campaign, or playing with eachother in the competition mode. Typically by the end of the day, Sonic 2 would have been beaten by everybody in the household.
Tails made his first appearance in Sonic 2 the video game. This was the first ever appearance of a fox in a video game. The reason he has 2 tails is a reference to the game being called Sonic 2. In the game. However, his real name is Miles "Tails" Prower, this is what appears on his driver's license.
Tails follows Sonic in the game. This means there are 2 character being controlled at the same time (another clever reference to the fact that the game is called Sonic 2). If sonic goes too far away from tails, he will fly back, unless there is water, then he will swim, because you can't fly in water (Or so I've been told). When tails flies, he uses his ass, mainly his tails. He makes them spin really fuckin' fast and this creates lift I think. Hold on I'mma do a plagiarism real quick.

Thrust begins with the letter T, and so does 2 (aka Two), which is a pogger reference to the fact that the letter T is in the alphabet I think. Hold on..

Sonic the hedgehog is my best friend. He is so cool and is has 2 hands (another reason the game is called sonic 2). When he runs he goes like really fast. I wish I was that fast, then I could run away from the darkness that consumes my soul.
